OTHER INTERVENTION

In addition to the Mental health Psychosocial Support (PSS) Center in Harare, REPSSI has implemented several other interventions to address the needs of individuals affected by drug and substance use. These interventions include community-based support groups, outreach programs, and partnerships with local healthcare providers to offer a holistic approach to treatment and recovery. Through community engagement, REPSSI aims to reduce stigma and raise awareness about mental health and substance use issues.

The center's use of tools like "Psychosocial Skills for Young People" and the "Hero Book" has been central to its approach. These resources help individuals develop coping skills, build resilience, and address underlying emotional and social challenges related to drug use. Additionally, the center offers family counseling and support to strengthen the role of families in the recovery process. In 2024, the center served 7 individuals, with 4 continuing to actively engage in follow-up counseling sessions. The remaining 3 individuals discontinued their participation, which highlights the challenges faced in maintaining long-term engagement. Despite this, the program continues to monitor and evaluate its impact, learning from each case to refine its approach. The overall goal remains to provide comprehensive psychosocial support that enhances the well-being of individuals and supports their journey to recovery.
